The Graduate School DEFAP of Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and University of Milan Bicocca are offering three years PhD Program starting in October 2013 in Italy. International and Italian students are eligible. Nine Fellowships are offered for duration of three years. Each fellowship pays a stipend of 13,600 Euros (gross) per year. The monthly allowance can be increased up to 50% for PhD students visiting one of partner institutions abroad. Applicants should have GMAT or GRE score and obtain English language certifications.

Eligibility:Pre-Applications will be accepted from applicants of all ages and nationalities who hold:
- an Italian degree (Diploma di laurea quadriennale, laurea specialistica, laurea magistrale) or a an Italian degree obtained according to the regulations existent before the implementation of the Ministerial Decree of 3 November, 1999, n. 509 and its subsequent amendments and supplements;
- a foreign academic qualification already recognized as equivalent by academic authorities, or recognized in accordance with inter-university agreements of co-operation and mobility;
- a foreign academic qualification that has not yet been recognized equivalent to an Italian degree, provided the candidate includes the documents necessary to reach a decision regarding equivalence, for purposes of admission to the PhD programme only. Pre-Applications may also be submitted by candidates of all nationalities who have not yet graduated but who expect to receive their degree by the matriculation deadline. In this case, the admission to the program is conditional on the candidate submitting a valid certification of the obtained degree. Should this not occur, her/his application will be automatically discarded.

(a)GMAT or GRE;
(b)one of the following language certifications (obtained not before the 1st of January 2010): FCE; CAE; CPE; BEC; BRITISH CHAMBER of COMMERCE; TRINITY COLLEGE; TOEFL; IELTS.

Scholarship Description: The Graduate School DEFAP of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Università di Milano-Bicocca invite Pre-applications to its PhD Program. The length of the PhD Program is three years, starting in October 2013. DEFAP School combines the research and teaching skills of two well-established universities: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca. The School is run by a Managing Committee under the supervision of an International Scientific Committee. The Graduate School (DEFAP) aims to:Offer students a thorough understanding of the working of modern economies;Equip students with the skills required to undertake successfully academic research and/or a career in the private sector, in international organizations and in governmental bodies. Economics and quantitative methods form the core of the DEFAP programme. Our students are in daily contact with prestigious academics and are exposed to a culture of openness and diversity.
Number of award(s): At least nine fellowships are offered. The number of scholarships may increase if sponsorships on specific research projects become available.
Duration of award(s): Fellowships are offered for a period of three years.
What does it cover? Each fellowship pays a stipend of 13,600 Euros (gross) per year. The monthly allowance can be increased up to 50% for our PhD students visiting one of our partner institutions abroad.
Selection Criteria: Not Known
Notification: The result of the selection will be available by July 12th. Each candidate will be immediately informed by e-mail for pre application result. All applicants will be informed by e-mail about the final list of admitted candidates.
How to Apply: The mode of applying is by post. Admission procedure consists of two stages: a Pre-Application and an official Application. The purpose of the Pre-Application stage is to give candidates a preview as to whether their official Application will have a chance to be successful. Pre-Application must be received by June 23rd and the result of the selection will be available by July 12th .
Scholarship Application Deadline: The deadline for pre-applications is June 23, 2013.
