Students should have offered a place for doctoral study at Aberystwyth and be proficient in English. UK and Non-EU?students can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship is offered for three years and cover tuition fees (up to the UK/EU rate of ?3900) and also provide them maintenance allowance of approximately ?13,590 and access to a travel and conference fund (?500 per annum). The selection will be based on candidate?s potential and quality of the research proposal. Application should be sent online by 1st March 2013. Study Subject(s): The scholarship is provided in departments of art, international politics, biological, environmental & rural sciences, law and criminology, computer science, management and business, education and lifelong learning, mathematics and physics, english literature and creative writing, psychology, european languages, sport and exercise science, geography and earth sciences, theater, film and television studies, history and welsh history, welsh and celtic studies, information studies. Course Level: This scholarship is for pursuing PhD level. Scholarship Provider: The Aberystwyth University Scholarship can be taken at: UK Eligibility: To be eligible applicants must: -have or expect to obtain at least upper second class honours in your first degree -apply and be offered a place for doctoral study at Aberystwyth -achievement of 7.0 in IELTS, or equivalent, as the normal case, for non-UK students (before the end of March 2013 at the latest) -be commencing your doctoral study in September 2013 Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: UK and Non-EU students can apply for this scholarship. Scholarship Description: The Aberystwyth University doctoral (PhD) scholarship (DCDS) scheme offers a package of research,?training and career development for full-time PhD students. These awards are tailored to enable students to develop the necessary skills required to meet their career choices and offer a breadth of development opportunities to enhance their research, teaching and transferable skills. Students within the scheme will make an agreed contribution to the Department and University as a condition of the PhD scholarship. What does it cover??It cover their tuition fees (up to the UK/EU rate of ?3900) and also provide them with a maintenance allowance of approximately ?13,590 and access to a travel and conference fund (?500 per annum). Non-EU students would have to cover the difference between UK/EU tuition fees and the non-EU tuition fees from their scholarship. However, there will be 3 additional scholarships that covers this difference in tuition fees, which will be awarded to the three highest ranked non-EU candidates for this competition. Selection Criteria: Criteria to guide the award of scholarships are: -?Evidence of the candidate?s potential as a research student -The contribution which the proposed study would make to the Department?s research profile and research aims -Candidate?s career development -Quality of the research proposal -Judgements on the candidate?s proposal and his/her potential as a researcher. Notification:?The results will be?announced during the first week of May.
