The position is based within the King?s British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence at the Denmark Hill Campus of King?s College London. The Centre has new well-equipped laboratories and its own state-of-the-art proteomics facility. Large-scale proteomics data are available for all major cardiovascular pathologies.By diverging from the current single molecule-based reductionist approaches, the aim is to develop new approaches to diagnose, prevent and treat cardiovascular disease, acting at a pathway rather than a single molecule level. Bioinformatic data integration across different ?omics platforms (genome wide transcripts, microRNA arrays, proteomics, metabolomics) will be central in the generation of multi-scale biomarkers and the delineation of molecular pathways that determine occurrence and/or progression of disease. Novel concepts emerging from integrative modelling of data obtained from pre-clinical models and clinical specimen will then be validated experimentally. What it Covers: The appointment will be made at Grade 6, currently ?31,020 per annum, plus ?2,323 per annum London Allowance.
